Triad is a culmination of three years of R&D after the Werk One, a 65% layout keyboard design.
Our aim was to push forward in terms of the bold promise of 80s futurism and an intricate sculptural design language, as well as learning about what makes a keyboard sound addictively satisfying.
A three main part geometry with steel inner and outer weights, assembled magnetically to a seamless uniform whole, with a tolerance fall within the range of ±0.001 inch (0.025 mm) requiring specialized custom tooling, meticulous process control and advanced measurement techniques.
With three different main configurations and dozens of possible combinations of materials and finishes, we wanted to enable you to freely customise your very own build, emphasising what makes a keyboard truly custom.

M02-65% PCB by ebastler, QMK compatible and fully programmable with VIA, powerful
STM32F411 MCU for future module support
D-02 Daughterboard by ebastler with full ESD protection with additional low
pass filter on power supply with USB -C interface
Moulded silicone feet
Note: keycaps on renders and photographs are for demonstration only and are not included.
Note: Since every custom colour requires a newly mixed anodisation bath, we can’t guarantee that the renders and photography colours will match the final product 100%. Each edition was colourmatched prior to the pre-order at least once, still a slight variance may still occur.
Quality Control: Our aim is to ensure flawless coating on visible surfaces of the enclosures. Machining marks and small anodisation blemishes on the inside body are not considered a flaw. Our brass and copper pieces are clear or pvd coated to prevent tarnishing over time.
LAYOUTS
Before choosing between solderable and solderless hotswap PCB take a note of the possible layouts. Solderable PCB offers wide arrange of different layouts and ISO support. Hotswap PCB has a fixed layout and is limited to ANSI support only.

CHOOSE WISELY
ABOUT SHANGRI-LA
Shangri-La Configuration plays with the idea of a man-made Eden, industrial form that resists the sterile predictability of contemporary pseudo-Rams minimalism. It explores the interplay of distinct finishes, offering the widest range of configuration options in the Triad design series.
Roughly sandblasted Moonstone meets deep matte-black PVD over solid brass, softened by ceramic-coated copper and the warmth of custom peach-anodized aluminum. Each
surface is chosen for its balance of weight, finish, and tactile presence.

With a choice of dark translucent polycarbonate, silver or black-anodized aluminum for the top configuration, Shangri-La moves between raw industrial presence and restrained elegance.

ABOUT WERK TRIAD
Werk Triad was developed in parallel with Werk One, not as it's continuation, but as it's counterpoint. Where the One embraced elevation, open spaces and a brighter, airy sound, Triad takes a grounded stance, visually planted, sonically deeper and defined by interlocking geometry.
The design draws on constructivist principles, using classic geometric forms that merge into a single composition. It's three-part structure, consisting of two lower sections and a seamless top, is joined by a multilayered weight that shapes uninterrupted artwork across the underside. Four interconnecting components, each with distinct coatings and materials, meet at precise tolerances, secured by a magnetic assembly that allows for tool-less separation.
While it's profile is more anchored, Triad maintains continuous curves across both top and bottom bodies, preserving the core of our design language. The reduced internal volume, combined with a deeper resonance chamber than on the One, produces a denser and more resonant clack without the use of foam. The magnetic assembly also forms part of a hybrid gasket array mounting system, building on the qualities that made Werk One feel and sound so distinct.
In spirit, Triad continues the pursuit of merging the bold optimism of mid-century futurism with an intricate sculptural form language. Where Werk One blended futurism with art deco influence, Triad follows a constructivist path, two opposing points on the same spectrum, each defining the other through contrast.
Architecture of Hybrid Gasket array

VERTICAL GASKETS
Custom molded soft silicone gaskets
helping the plate to self align and minimising
the vibration between top and bottom body
of the build
Symmetrically placed on each side of the “leafspring“ plate, three different gasket types are arranged into a gasket array that surrounds the switch plate vertically and horizontally. This allows us to combine a soft yet not too bouncy typing experience with high vibration absorption. Magnets help to minimize unwanted pressure on the gaskets and contact between metal parts
PORON HORIZONTAL GASKETS
- white poron for brighter sound profile and stiffer feel
- black high return rate poron for darker sound
RESONANCE CHAMBER INNER DESIGN

With a front height of just 1.75 cm and a rear profile under 3.5 cm, the Werk Triad is even slimmer than the Werk One - remarkably thin for a custom MX-switch keyboard. To prevent the acoustics from becoming muted or “dead,” we carried over a concept first introduced with the Werk One: the resonance chamber, a principle borrowed from musical instruments.
In the Triad, the inner body shifts from the curved form of the One to a sharp triangular geometry, which allows for an even deeper resonance chamber beneath the PCB. This chamber balances, reflects, and enhances the switch acoustics. The result is a full, vibrant, consistent across rows and distinctly clacky sound signature that requires no reliance on foam or dampening modifications.
Where the Werk One offered a clacky and airy profile, the Werk Triad builds on that character - retaining the liveliness while adding a deeper, darker undertone.
FUTURE SUPPORT AND MODULARITY

Our designs are built to last and to evolve. From the start, the Werk One was engineered with future modularity in mind, and the Werk Triad continues this philosophy. The default badge module can be swapped for various options, opening the door to new features and personalization.
The first of these is an OLED module, designed to be interchangeable across all upcoming werk.technica keyboards. Both the M02-65% PCB and the Werk Triad top enclosure will support these new modules, which are currently in prototyping and software development stage.
To encourage experimentation, the default badge module is open source, giving anyone the freedom to design their own modules and stages, adapting the top body to their own aesthetic and functional preferences.

Legacy Werk Triad Kit includes:
• Packaging: custom bix tailored for a rather fun unboxing experience
